A new outbreak in fighting in Yemen has forced tens of thousands of people from their homes.
Analysts say the seizure of state arsenals, external backing and extensive military evolution has helped the Houthis.
Authorities are struggling to find a way to control the outbreak, with no approved treatments or vaccines.
Organisers say moving Dakar Rally, likely scheduled January 9-23, out of Saudi Arabia was ‘exceptional and one-off’.
Houthis deny targeting the region of the Muslim holy city as hostilities continue to escalate.
The announcement comes despite talks between Iran and the Mecca pact countries in Tehran earlier this week.

Officials from Riyadh, Islamabad, Ankara and Tehran met in Iran.
The attacks come as top officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Pakistan and Iran meet in Tehran to de-escalate conflict.
